Billy the Kid Debunked: The Truth Revealed
There is a lot of misinformation about Billy the Kid's death. This is your comprehensive guide to cut through the noise and determine fact from fiction. Thank you to all of the historians whose research I rely upon.
On the night of July 14th, 1881, Sheriff Pat Garrett gunned down Billy the Kid. Or did he? Why is there still so much confusion surrounding the alleged death of William H. Bonney? Is it true that Pat Garrett’s deputies said that he killed the wrong man? Why did Sheriff Garrett bury the body without letting anyone see it? What was he trying to hide? And why was there no photograph taken? If Garrett did kill the Kid, why didn’t he receive the reward? And while we’re asking questions, who was this Billy Barlow character? What’s that all about? And who was Brushy Bill Roberts? Did Brushy have all the same scars as Billy the Kid? And wasn’t there a photo comparison study conducted by the FBI that showed Brushy and Billy were a 93% match? We will discuss all this and more as we finally clear up a few misconceptions concerning one of the greatest history hoaxes of all time! #history #western #wildwest

The Truth About Sheriff Pat Garrett
Переглядів 32 тис.21 день тому
On the night of July 14th, 1881, Sheriff Pat Garrett killed Billy the Kid. In doing so, he helped create a legend and ensured that his legacy would forever be intertwined with that of the notorious outlaw. And let’s be honest - it isn’t that great of a legacy. Many consider Garrett a coward, at best, a no-good backstabbing Old West Judas who betrayed his friend for a handful of silver. Moreover...

When Governor Bill Richardson took office he was going to give a full pardon to Billy, but the Garrett family threw a tantrum and claimed it would tarnish Pat's name. The people who run the tourist grift in Ft. Sumner fought it stating it would destroy their business. So he of course folded to them. Then the fight began about DNA Testing being done on claims that Bushy Bill was Billy by taking samples from him and The Kids mother to settle it. A court order blocked the samples from being taken from his mother. Billy had a brother that is buried in Colorado. If you want the matter settled, take DNA samples from Him and Bushy.

So your one of those coalition boys , well you and your posse can keep spreading propaganda , good luck with all that . Jesse Evans was an alias for Jesse James , just not Jesse wooden James , he changed his name cause of the notoriety of the name , I found that info in a library in a book published before all this brushy business . When I find the book I will let you know the name , author and publisher

Finally found the crossover episode from the first name to the current. Fun! There hasn't been a single episode, old or new, that I haven't enjoyed. Basically, if one of yours comes up in my feed I listen, whether I've heard it before on not. As a poor retired Okie of a) a mother whose father taught her what seems now to be the extinct language of an extinct tribe from Alabama or Georgia, and b) a father who was a third generation cattle rancher, I'm always looking for new info on on the range of topics you most often cover. You are the best I've found, both for research and storytelling ability. I wish I could afford to support you monetarily, but I can't. I'll just keep smashing like and sharing and posting comments to feed the algo. Hope that helps. Wishing you great success in all your endeavors.

Thanks Billy! So here's the thing with UA-cam ads that not many people are aware of, including UA-camrs. The ad placements are simply suggestions. While I do have the ability to manually place ads wherever I want, ultimately it's UA-cam that makes the final call. And UA-cam makes that call for each viewer individually. Basically, they've got a profile on all of us and part of that profile has to do with our own individual ad tolerance. If UA-cam thinks you're more tolerant of ads then they'll show you more ads. If they think you're less tolerant, they'll show you less. If you're like me and you sometimes let UA-cam play in the background for your kids - and you're not Johnny On The Spot when it comes to skipping ads - then UA-cam will continue showing more and more ads. If you're very quick to skip ads then they'll begin showing less. Or, here's another example: People who fall asleep listening to UA-cam. They naturally sleep through the ads without skipping them so UA-cam will just assume that they don't mind the ads and start to show them more and more. You might not remember but maybe a year or two ago I was audibly announcing when the ads were about to play by saying something along the lines of "And now for a quick break to hear from today's sponsor." I would then manually place an ad after that point in my recording. But on UA-cam they never played ads in those spots. People thought I was joking lol but I fully intended for their to be ads there. For whatever reason, UA-cam simply put ads where they wanted and not where I wanted. Like I said, the ad placements are just suggestions for UA-cam and they'll pretty much just play an ad where and when they want depending on the viewer. If you're looking for an alternative you might check out an actual podcast app like Spotify or Apple Podcasts. If you've got an Android then Podcast Addict is a great option. Unlike UA-cam, on the actual podcasting platforms ads only play where I manually place an ad spot. And I never place a ton of ads, they're almost always spaced out every 15-20 minutes. For a 45 minute episode you might here one ad at the very beginning, two more at about the 20 minute mark, and two more at the very end when the episode is already done. If you prefer UA-cam I can honestly say that UA-cam premium is pretty good. I finally broke down and subscribed a few months ago and I'm loving not having any ads and being able to listen to videos with my screen locked. Also they throw in UA-cam music for free and that has completely replaced Spotify for my music listening. I know that's not an option for everybody, but if it's something you're thinking about I can attest to it being a pretty good deal. Hope this helps, man. I know you been listening for a long time and I appreciate you!

And my uncle was a pretty vagabond old hippie. So he didn't own much. But those books were his prized possessions. I know my mom's family was southern. Kinda Mahe me have to wonder.... 19:00 One of my Baker x? Great grandfathers had a record attached to his name that said him home was lost a few years before he died due to unpaid property taxes.🤔 Now I'm gonna have to go back through and hunt for that document.
